First Jerusalem Photos

This beautiful white dove greeted us today, our first day in the Old City of Jerusalem. He was perched on the stones of the Damascus Gate, the Old City Gate closest to St. Etienne, the monastery whre I am living in old East Jerusalem. While I tend not to think this way, I thought his presence there was an "auspicious sign." I posted a large number of photos today from my first day in Jerusalem. We tried to take Psalm 48 seriously. It says:

Go about Zion, walk all around it,
note the number of its towers.
Consider the ramparts, examine its citadels,
that you may tell future generations:
"Yes, so mighty is God,
our God who leads us always!"
--------------------------------Psalms 48:12-14
