I have received so few comments in recent weeks that I wonder if anyone is reading. I could use some feedback.
Are the posts too long?
Do you find it interesting at all? Should I stick to more of a travelog or do yo find the theological reflection interesting too?
Is this blog serving a purpose? More pictures? Fewer?
It's kinda time-consuming and and if no one is reading I might not put so much time into it. (Although it really does help me process the experiences too).
Drop me a note - let me know if I should continue... Any feedback welcome...
Thanks,
Fr. B

I would like to hear more about the camel meat and other delicacies you are consuming while there ;)
ReplyDeleteAll seriousness though..you are doing a great job. I check on here daily to see what you are up to and what insights you have experienced lately. Keep it up :D
Father Bart --
ReplyDeletePLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT STOP. I have read all of you blog posts and thoroughly enjoy them. I especially like the theological discourses. They are the next best thing to listening to you preach at mass. I can hear you speaking as I read tjose blogs.
Your insights into the Isreali/Palestinian situation and the Jewish observances of Sabbath are 'from the gut' honest and therefore worthy of my own reflection.
Your photos are awesome!! You apparently know the great photographer's secret - take hundreds of photos to obtain the one prize worthy image. Digital cameras have made it so much easier.
You think you have it tough with Internet connection in Isreal. You should try KOA Kampgrounds ... can you say 'dial-up speed'? KOA actually has high-speed Internet, but their wireless connectivity leaves lots to be desired. My other Internet connection is via AT&T wireless card over cell service which is not bad when you can get 5 bars and 3G - not always possible in remotely located campgrounds. Our best connections have been at Panera Bread on rainy, pre-game afternoons.
Though I have read all your blog posts, many on my phone around the evening campfire, I have not commented much as I cannot find anything to say which compares to your eloquence.
I look forward to hearing even more about the 'Trip of Your Life' upon your return.
Christ's Peace be with you!
-- Joe
I have read all your blogs and don't change a thing about the posts! I agree with Joe on most of the stuff he said.

Hi Father Bart! Please continue your postings. We enjoy reading them and have kept up with your postings about every 2-3 days. They have been great religious and historical lessons and it feels like we are travelling with you. Myself having never been out of the western hemisphere, your postings are exciting to read and it is so interesting to hear your experiences and reflections and hearing about where Christ walked. Thank you for your prayer for married couples!

It's really good!
ReplyDeleteOf course, I've never read anyone's blog before (much less followed one) but it's an honor to be e-included in your journey - and very nice to preview the final product of what you're working on as it happens.
No doubt most of us just don't know what to say back to you (given the virtual format) but (since you asked...) we sure appreciate it!
Yes. You have an audience. I live in Rochester, MN and knew you when you were in Salt Lake City. When I found this I was thrilled. It is a treasure trove for my personal learning since I have deep interest in the subject as I teach Christology at the local Catholic High School. Please continue. I am learning much. Your reflective transparency is also valuable.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy these blogs as well and I hope that you keep them up with the pictures and reflection. Thanks for making us feel like we are experience little pieces of your wonderful trip!
ReplyDeleteYes, Chip, you have readers. Being your mother, I might be prejudiced, but I am really enjoying all of your writing and your pictures. Keep on the same as you have been, I'm sure everyone else is enjoying it also. Stay safe. Love you,Mama
ReplyDeleteHey Fr. Bart!
